Assessment of health risk benefits of weight loss treatments: A review of methodological and pragmatic considerations

Abstract

This review examines some of the methodological issues relevant to assessments of body composition, blood lipids, and cardiopulmonary fitness as these relate to health risk benefits of weight loss treatments. Current measurement techniques are described and evaluated from the perspective of practical and assessment concerns, with recommendations for selection of assessment methods. © 1987.
