Where is Juvenile Probation Today? The Legally Prescribed Functions of Juvenile Probation Officers
Abstract
This paper reviews the statutes of the 50 states and the district of Columbia to determine the legally prescribed functions of juvenile probation officers. We compare the statutory requirements to determine whether juvenile probation follows a rehabilitation or punishment model.
