Launching Lessons: Framing Our Approach to Multicultural, Multivoiced Ya Literature

Abstract

This article focuses on Launching Lessons, a teaching method to co-construct a working frame with students to engage the questions that emerge while reading multicultural, multivoiced young adult literature (YAL). It is noted that Launching Lessons engage students in thought-provoking tasks rather than attempting to motivate student engagement.
