Mind the Gap
The vast divide between the work of systems librarians who work with computers and reference librarians who work with the public poses a serious threat to the professional future of librarianship. Consequently, greater cooperation is needed and sustained efforts must be made to keep reference librarians current with ongoing developments in information technology and to provide them with hands-on experience with technology.
