Abstract

Students enter college debate programs with a wide variety of forensic backgrounds. At present there is no efficient way to assess the entrant's grasp of elementary debate principles or fill the gaps in this basic knowledge. This thesis offers as a remedy a diagnostic readiness test and programmed teaching unit for entrance-level college debaters.
