Abstract
UNSTILL LIFE: POEMS is a collection of poetry written and/or revised during my time at Missouri State University. The collection comments on region, landscape, family, and romantic love, focusing much of its attention on the small upstate New York town, Nunda. Many of the poems also comment on queer identity, specifically that of a gay male speaker coming of age in New York and then later looking for love and companionship. The poems are written in free verse, some pieces being written as American sonnets and prose poems.
