Abstract
This study deteils the formation of the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, a state of the art entertainment venue on the campus of Southwest Missouri State University. Tracing the development, formation and the initial year of operation of the facility, the work is divided into three chapters with a subsequent four-segment appendix. The first chapter introduces the study's problem, purpose, significance and organization. Chapter two details the development of the Hall from the concept of the facility to the completed building. Chapter three covers the first year of operation including details concerning each presentation contracted by the Hall. The appendix features pertinent material used to inform and promote the endeavors associated with the Hall. Based on interviews, articles, and mini-publications, the study chronicles the events that led to the establishment of a venue to provide touring professional entertainment to the Ozarks.
