Abstract
This thesis describes the process used during directing a Balcony Theatre production of Lee Blessing's Eleemosynary. It includes a detailed description of all approaches to the script encompassing rationale for script selection, historical context of the play, and script analysis. Next, the application of the analysis during the production process is examined. Finally, it concludes with a post-production analysis of the entire directorial process.
