Abstract

Into the Fold is a novel set in the early 1870s in south central Missouri. It is the story of Cora Beth Anderson, a Christian young woman facing the challenges of working a farm while raising three children entrusted to her care. Cora meets a young soldier who is struggling to recover from his physical wounds as well as from wounds to his faith, both of which resulted from the inhumanity he experienced in the Civil War. Cora helps him regain his faith while his body heals itself. The love they come to share for one another and for their God becomes the foundation on which they establish their home and raise Cora's three foster children.
