Title
Direct-acting oral anticoagulants
Abstract
Direct-acting oral anticoagulants (DOACs) are among the most common medications administered by clinical medical-surgical nurses. Proactive measures and targeted patient education should be encouraged to prevent adverse events associated with these drugs. Understanding anticoagulant therapy and treatment guidelines will provide nurses with information on safe administration of DOACs.
