Title
The pedagogy of death: Teaching about capital punishment
Abstract
The author suggests that, based on recent Bureau of Justice statistics, imposition of the death penalty soon may become a near‐daily occurrence. As such, the topic is likely to become of greater interest in the college and university classroom in the not too distant future. The paper outlines a lecture on the death penalty and provides some of the information necessary to address this topic. Included at the end of the paper are questions concerning the implications of the death penalty intended to assist in stimulating discussion and debate in the college classroom. A list of additional resources is also provided.
