Title
A test for the quality and quantity of chert nodules in stream-deposited chert sources
Abstract
Stream deposited nodules of three types of chert were tested to determine relative qualities and quantities. The results reveal that although the secondarily redeposited nodules should have provided a viable and readily accessible source of chert, the quality and quantity of the chert nodules varies widely according to type. The simple test design described should be applicable to most small stream gravel bars to determine quality and quantity measures of stream deposited nodules.
