Seasonal changes in the temperature affects on oxygen consumption of a terrestrial snail
Abstract
1. Oxygen consumption (Vo2) of active Stenotrema leai was similar at all seasons at 10° and 15°C.
2. Vo2 at 20, 25 and 30°C was highest in the spring.
3. Vo2 of summer snails was relatively independent of temperature between 15 and 35°C (Q10 = 1.3).
4. Vo2 at extreme temperatures (5, 35°C) was highest in the autumn.
