Program to calculate the gravitational field and gravity gradient tensor resulting from a system of right rectangular prisms
Abstract
A FORTRAN program is described that calculates the gravitational field and the gravity gradient tensor resulting from a system of right rectangular prisms which can be ordered into a threedimensional (3-D) model. The gravitational field and gravity gradient tensors can be calculated on a grid on or above the model's surface. The algorithm is useful for the interpretation of gravity gradient data that will become available from airborne gradiometer instrumentation currently being developed.
