2-Isonitrozo-2-cyano-N,N-dimethylthioacetamide - ion ONC(CN)C(S)N(CH3)2 in a series of nonlinear acido ligands of cyanoxime type

Abstract

2-Oximino-2-cyano-N,N-dimethylthioacetamide (HTDCO), its sodium salt NaTDCO and metal complexes M(TDCO) and M(TDCO)2 have been synthesized and studied by PMR, 14N-NMR and IR spectroscopy. It has been shown that the negative charge in TDCO-anion is delocalized; this leads to the rapid rotation of methyl groups. Coordination in the metal complexes takes place through S atom and N atom of the nitrozo-group, with the formation of 5-member cycles. It has been concluded that the anion under consideration exhibits properties of an cyanoxime acido ligand. Comparison of its structure and properties with that of some similar compounds has been carried out.
