fac-mer Equilibrium in Solutions of VCl3in Acetonitrile1
Abstract
Both the equivalent conductivity and the proton NMR spectra of solutions of vanadium trichloride in acetonitrile indicate the presence of a second species above 50 °C. The maximum value found for the equivalent conductivity, 6.21 cm2mol-1Ω-1at 76 °C, is too low for a 1:1 electrolyte. The two species present are very likely the fac and mer isomers of VC13.3CH3CN. © 1987, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
