Title
Business intelligence process metrics specification: An information flow approach
Abstract
Business intelligence (BI) aims to provide timely information to improve business effectiveness and allow a business to compete successfully in the marketplace. Generally such information has assisted organizations in either discovering strategic and tactical trends and opportunities, or measuring the performance of their business processes in order to improve organizational effectiveness. This paper outlines an approach to transform business process dimensional models into business rules for process metrics specification through information flow modeling. The paper illustrates the concepts through a marketing business process Lead to Forecast prototype which is implemented in Oracle's PL/SQL language.
