Title
Total safety management: A TQM approach to industrial safety
Abstract
Industrial safety has become one of the top concerns in manufacturing. Commitment, focus on cost control, responsibility, continuous improvement, customer orientation, and joint problem solving are the pillars of total quality management (TQM). They are also the keys to improving safety in the workplace. In this paper, we describe the parallelism between TQM and safety management. We also propose a total safety management (TSM) model to significantly improve safety.
