Title
Effective assessment: A model for industrial technology programs
Abstract
A program assessment model for industrial technology programs effectively implemented at Southwest Missouri State University (SMSU) is discussed. The model utilizes a faculty driven approach, thereby assuring faculty buy-in to the ensuing implementation. It is suggested that the key elements of an effective assessment plan include Intended Outcomes, Assessment Method and Criteria, Schedule, and Responsibility. Data should be used to improve curriculum and program processes to improve student learning.
