Title
Cobol in an object-oriented world: A learning perspective
Abstract
Cobol is the most widely used programming language in the world, primarily because it is the best business application language available. Although Internet, Java, and object oriented (OO) trends threaten Cobol's dominance, industry will continue to need the language and its programmers for development as well as for maintenance, especially once OO Cobol becomes an official standard.
