NASA's great moonbuggy race - innovative student projects
Abstract
The formation of a Moonbuggy Race , an innovative project by The Society of Manufacturing Engineers students, was discussed. Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas utilized the race as a central part of there design curriculum. The requirements in the projects included all aspects of design, analysis, manufacturing process , quality control, project planning and cost analysis. The PSU students took a class called MFGET or MECET 669 "Manufacturing Design Project" to meet the requirements.
