Preschoolers' Thinking During Block Play
Abstract
The article presents the importance of block play wherein preschoolers may develop and work out a variety of logical and mathematical relationships in attempts to understand problems when building in blocks. It mentions the creative exploration, problem-solving strategies and concrete manipulation which were observed during the children's interactions with the blocks. It also mentions that a formative assessment can help direct instruction to promote student learning for mathematical concepts.
