Bibliographic and user instruction within music libraries
Abstract
An overview of instructional methodologies used to teach music bibliography and music research classes reveals three distinct eras of instruction: (1) bibliographic orientation and interpretation;(2) bibliographic instruction;and (3) user instruction.Practical applications within print and electronic environments highlight the advantages of strategies which enable users to develop both bibliographic and critical thinking skills. © 1998 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
