Canid Landscapes
Abstract
This chapter explores the prodigious landscape of Chaco Canyon, in the high desert grasslands near the Zuni Mountains in northwestern New Mexico, USA. Through encounters with ravens and coyotes, historical landmarks like the Wetherill Cemetery and natural rock formations, and reflections on landscape histories, the author weaves together a naturecultural performance of interconnection driven by symbiosis and the cosmic and relational origins of life.
