Digital Commons – Heartland User Group will meet Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25 in room 315 of Plaster Student Union on the campus of Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.

Meeting Schedule

Registration is free but please register in advance. This will let us to know how many plan to attend and allow dissemination of last-minute updates or other information.

If you would like to make a presentation at the meeting, or propose a topic for a panel discussion or table talk, please use the "Submit Conference Proposal" link at left.

Presentations should be 40 minutes long. A PC computer with internet browsers and Microsoft Powerpoint will be available. If you anticipate needing additional specialized software or browser plugins for your presentation, please note them with your submission.

Arrangements for special rates have been made with the University Plaza Hotel. The rate is $99/night for single or double occupancy in rooms with one king or two queen beds and includes a hot breakfast. Accessible rooms with a king bed are also available. NOTE: this rate is only available until 5:00 p.m. CST on Monday, September 23. Book early as there are other events in Springfield around the same time.

Springfield is located in southwest Missouri on I-44 and US-65. The Springfield-Branson National Airport is eight miles from MSU's main campus. If you stay at the University Plaza Hotel they have an airport shuttle.

Plaster Student Union is building 144 at 7-H on the Campus, parking, and shuttle map. The University Plaza Hotel is not marked but located at 5-D.

Driving
Parking permits will be emailed to registered attendees. Parking will be in Lot 24 or Lot 22 on the south side of campus. From the University Plaza Hotel go east to National Avenue then turn right (south). Take the first right past Grand Street to the south parking lots. These are at 7-J on the campus map. From the parking lot take the pedestrian underpass under Grand Street. From the underpass go north (away from Grand Street) to Plaster Student Union. Enter through the south doors and go up two floors.

Walking
Plaster Student Union is a 7/10 mile walk from the University Plaza Hotel. From the hotel turn right (south) onto John Q. Hammons Parkway. Midway along the soccer and track field turn left (east) onto Madison St. The Student Union is at the end of the street on the right. Enter the north doors behind the bear statue and go up one floor.

Campus Shuttle
A campus shuttle stop is located at John Q. Hammons Parkway and St. Louis Street. This is on the opposite corner of the BKD office building from the hotel parking lot. The Blue Route shuttle turns off St. Louis Street and goes south on Hammons Parkway. The Student Union stop is next to the bear statue. Enter the north doors behind the bear and go up one floor. .
