Abstract

North of Sixty-Six is the fictional story of Cole James and his quarter-life crisis. Realizing he has made it to his mid-twenties without accomplishing much of anything, Cole and two friends decide they're going to make it big in Hollywood. On the way out of town, he takes revenge against Sears, his employer, which he feels has been treating him unfairly. The road trip goes badly almost from the start, and the plans begin to unravel. After only a few short days in California, the trio realizes they aren't equipped to survive there and, unwilling to return home, backtracks to New Mexico. Working at a casino near Santa Fe, Cole befriends some criminal types, eventually getting caught up in New Mexican gang life. When his new friends turn on him, Cole decides to take action, proving himself and getting one final revenge.
