Abstract
The study analyzes and evaluates the newly initiated Public Relations program at Park Central Hospital, (Springfield, Missouri). It also demonstrates that the skills acquired from Speech Communications training can be utilized in the field of Public Relations. A methodology which consisted of personal interviews, letters, newspaper, radio and television releases, and Scott M. Cutlip and Allen H. Center's, Effective Public Relations and C.A. Oliphant's, Public Relations for Health Care Management was utilized. The study revealed that the Public Relations department is needed at Park Central Hospital, but in order to obtain maximum effectiveness additional budgetary support for programs is essential.
