Abstract
My creative thesis is a combination of fiction and poetry; I chose this format because I am equally devoted to both: I write in an experimental mode, yet rely on a classic literature background that aids me in my attempt to create valuable literature. As with any writer, one of my goals for this project is to entertain my readers; however, I also hope to move them emotionally and enlighten them with my subject matter. All of my writing deals with issues that are important to me. Through my focus in each piece in the collection, I hope to expose important contemporary moral issues, some of which are deliberately vague or multi-faceted to accurately reflect the nature of my subjects. Some of my influences are William S. Borroughs, Kathy Acker, Sylvia Plath, E. E. Cummings, Anthony Burgess, Ken Kesey, William Carlos Williams, as well as many authors of classic literature, and I hope my work will appeal to readers familiar with these authors.
