Abstract

The purpose of this study is to trace the directorial process of producing William Inge's Bus Stop through the practical application of Frank McMullan's theories in his book, The Directorial Image. Sponsored by the Department of Theatre and Dance, the play was produced as a creative thesis. This thesis is divided into five chapters detailing the pre-production research and planning, the implementation of that research in a rehearsal process, and a self-evaluation of the finished work.
