This creative thesis traces the development of Central High School's spring play, Anne of Green Gables, adapted by Sylvia Ashby, from its inception to its completion. The thesis is divided into seven chapters. Chapter one outlines the methodology for the thesis. The process of script selection is examined in chapter two. Chapter three includes research on the play. Text analysis is the focus of chapter four. Chapter five details the technical aspects of the production. The directing process is examined in chapter six. Chapter seven covers post-production critique and analysis.
