Abstract
The materials included herein are five pieces of short fiction developed over several semesters of my graduate studies. The stories are meant to demonstrate various elements of fiction I have been working to cultivate in my work, such as defamiliarization, polyphony, unreliable narration, and epistolary narrative. I have also attempted to incorporate elements from different genres of fiction, including Noir, science fiction, and speculative fiction into traditional literary forms.
