Abstract
This creative thesis will be a collection of short fiction that will present a body of work that is representative of my awareness of various modes of and techniques used in fiction. Focusing on tight writing that conveys to the reader emotion, suspense, awareness of others and setting the stories will illustrate my knowledge of form in fiction as well as the value of characterization, dialogue and description. However, these techniques should not be so overworked or blatant as to invade the sanctity of the story.
