Abstract
This collection of poetry deals with domestic and individual realms as they exist within society as a large. Much of the poetry addresses tragic issues and their effect upon family and the personal psyche. The introduction discusses the process and influences which affected the writing of these poems in order to place them and the writer in the context of contemporary poetry. Most of the poems are free verse, though a few follow the formal traditions of blank verse or the villanelle.
