Abstract
Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Wind Ensemble is a three-movement work utilizing the technical capabilities of the saxophone as well as the many colors and sounds of the wind ensemble. The three movements, Untitled, A Bright Night in January, and Toccata, share a common motive on which a large portion of the thematic material is based. A mix of traditional and contemporary compositional techniques have been employed to reflect the composer's philosophy and continuing exploration of composition.
