Abstract
Improving the science achievement levels of students is a goal of many curriculum writers, administrators and elementary teachers. Teachers constantly search for ways to improve achievement scores for students. One factor that may contribute to the degree of achievement of the students is the level of motivation held by the teacher. This correlational study was designed to determine if a relationship exists between the motivation level of teachers and the achievement level of students. Using a questionnaire designed for this study, we surveyed the teachers and students of a Southwest Missouri school district. This study showed a significant relationship between the motivation level of teachers and the achievement level of students.
