Abstract
Symphony No. 1 is a four-movement composition for orchestra. The primary goal was to use contemporary compositional techniques with traditional symphony form and structure to express different religions and philosophy concepts in the Eastern and Western worlds. Each of the four movements focuses on a different religion or philosophy. The first movement is based on the Tao Te Ching. The second movement is based on Buddhism. The third movement is based on Platonism, and the last movement is based on Christianity.
