Abstract

This is a dramatic comedy screenplay which investigates the principles of intercultural communications. Kamal who is a Palestinian from the West Bank leaves his family and country seeking education in the U.S. Many of his experiences will demonstrate valuable examples in verbal and nonverbal communications. The script will demonstrate that language plays a major role in the adaptations and adjustment process to the host culture. The analysis paper will provide some examples on the acquisition of a foreign language. Some scenes in the script will illustrate the major differences and similarities between Arabic and American cultures. My main goal of pursuing this project is to help bridge the differences, and use the script to show that different doesn't necessarily mean sinister but unique.
