Abstract
Bad Penny, a collection of poetry, explores social transaction and capital. It calls into question the way we, as artists, are required to commodify and produce ourselves for career gain. Poems in this collection question the industrial desire for identity poetics and its effect on poets’ performance of identity. It also explores the way social exchanges exist as an ecosystem of debt.
