Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the opinions of elementary teachers and 3rd and 4th grade elementary students concerning the Book It National Reading Incentive Program. Two questionnaires were created by the investigator and then given to elementary teachers and 3rd and 4th grade students who were utilizing the Book It Program in their classrooms. The data were analyzed by computing frequency of responses, percentages, and average Likert Scale responses. It was concluded that the Book It Program has been proven to be effective in motivating students to read for enjoyment. Teachers approve of the Book It Program to supplement the basal series and promote a love of reading in their students.
