Abstract
Growth in the City of Branson, Missouri, has been tremendous since 1986. The growth in businesses has far outpaced the growth in housing for workers in those businesses. This study was conducted in order to evaluate the demand in Branson for affordable housing for service industry workers. The method of quantitatively evaluating the demand for housing in Branson was to conduct a survey of the study population. The survey was circulated in Branson, Missouri, and Osage Beach, Missouri, to obtain present housing available and possible future levels of affordable housing to be provided. The demand for affordable housing was then used to guide policy considerations for the City of Branson, Missouri. These policy modifications in the City of Branson include affirmative action on the part of the City to guide future development within the city.
