Abstract
COME, COMET is a collection of poetry written and compiled during my course of study at Missouri State University. It is an intimate reflection of my experiences and perceptions. The subjects range from relationships between lovers, the surreal nature of dreams, exploring the unconscious processes, and responding to a world of distractions and despair with sense of survivalist faith. A large portion of my work concerns itself with inspiration through ecstasy, or Eros. I break my thesis into three sections. The first is a meditation on sleep and dreams. The second is a consideration of intimate relationships and the psychic impulses behind them. The third becomes a response to the idea of the "real world," a place portrayed by the media as a wasteland of hardship.
